Like any customary neutrino physics article let me start by saying that neutrino was postulated by Pauli to explain the missing energy inray spectrum. Fermi later came up with a theory for the simultaneous emission of electron and neutrino from the nuclei. (He was the first person to call these particles “neutrino”) Neutrinos are extremely light and they will pass through light years of matter before they could be stopped making their detection extremely difficult. But it was done by two gentlemen, Fred Rynes and Clyde Cowan in 1953. This is all about the detection.
