Today we got the AB08 RPC added on the bigstack. This is the first phase of the project that we are doing here at TIFR. We along with the people in the lab were working with this Plate Chamber for the last 2 days. So its a party time 🙂 finally we have put it up there.

But there are still problems. It has been found that there is something wron with the gas system of the RPC. We are getting a backflow. Probably this will be fixed tomorrow and the the Voltage test will be done.

The gluing of the scinitllators has been done to some extent. There were some problems with the adhesive that we used and the fibre hasn’t properly got fixed on the scintillator grooves. The scintillator will probably be polished tomorrow and then packed

Rahul and Kalmani sir has caliberated another gas system in the upstair lab. Rahul has plotted the voltage vs flow. A straight line of the form is found to be a good fit for the data points. With the plot now he can set the voltage requiements according to his needs.

Vindyaji has wired a circuit which will be an interface between Emitter Coupled Logic (ECL) and LVDS. He is also picking up ROOT very fast.

There is nothing much happened to the kind of work that I was supposed to do. First I need to learn ROOT. Cannot do that with a peacuful mind since i also have this University exams right from this
